Before your appointment
Try to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Sunburn or suntan can cause damage to your skin during the treatment.
Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or any other harsh exfoliants for at least two weeks before your appointment.
Avoid any hair removal treatments such as waxing, threading, or electrolysis for at least a week before your appointment.
Stop using any retinoids or acne medications at least 3 Days before your appointment as they can make your skin more sensitive and increase the risk of irritation.
Make sure to keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using a good moisturizer in the days leading up to your appointment.
On the day of your appointment, cleanse your skin thoroughly and avoid using any heavy makeup, lotions, or creams.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your face and neck for the procedure.
Communicate any skin concerns or conditions with your technician to ensure they are aware and can adjust the treatment as needed.
Consultations
We always do a consultation before your appointment. We look at your eyebrows and will help make a recommendation that we feel will be best for the outcome you are looking for. We may even ask another tech for a 2nd opinion. We are always working together to give you the best result! Trust us, communication is key when it comes to getting the lash look you want, so don't hold back.
our salons
At Eye Candy, we're all about creating a professional atmosphere while still keeping it real. We understand the allure of the latest gossip, but we also know the importance of maintaining a welcoming and respectful space for all of our clients.
We're always down for a good chat, whether it's about your lash preferences or deeper, more serious topics. However, we ask that you bring your A-game in terms of tact and consideration for others in the room.
Feel free to share your thoughts on mental health, social justice, or anything else that's on your mind. Just remember that some topics may be sensitive, so let's all be mindful of each other's boundaries.
If you ever feel uncomfortable or need to change the topic, don't hesitate to let us know. We're here to provide a safe and supportive environment, kind of like lash therapists (minus the couch)!
So come on in, take in the open concept design, and let's have some respectful and engaging conversations.
During the appointment
We all know that taking care of ourselves is super important, and getting brows is a great way to do just that. But wait, there's more! Not only are you treating yourself to some lash goodness, but you're also getting a break from the constant buzz of technology.
Yep, you heard us right - no cell phone access for a small period of time. So put that phone on silent, forget about it, and really get to know yourself. It might sound scary at first, but trust us, it's a great way to recharge and reconnect with yourself.
what are you doing?
Brow Preparation: Your technician will clean your brow area to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup. If a wax is needed, we can always add on a brow wax to get the desired shape!
Henna Application: Using a brush, your technician will apply the henna dye to your brows, ensuring that every hair is coated evenly. They will let the dye sit on your brows for a specific amount of time, depending on the desired intensity of color.
Removal: After the dye has set, your technician will remove it using a damp cloth or cotton pad. They will then shape and wax your brows if required
Aftercare: Your technician will provide you with aftercare instructions when you are finished! We recommend taking a look and being honest with how you feel about your brows before you leave. Any tweaks can be done in session!
How often should i get dermaplaning?
Depending on your skin concerns and goals, we may recommend follow-up appointments every 4-6 weeks to maintain the results.
what exactly is dermaplaning?
Preparation: After the consultation, your technician will cleanse your skin to remove any makeup, dirt, or oil. They may also use an alcohol-based solution to disinfect the skin and ensure it's free from bacteria.
Dermaplaning: Your technician will use a sterile, surgical-grade scalpel to gently scrape the surface of your skin at a 45-degree angle. This will remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) to reveal smoother, brighter skin. The treatment is painless and should take about 30 minutes.
Post-Treatment Care: After the dermaplaning is complete, your technician will apply a soothing moisturizer and SPF to protect your skin. We may also recommend additional skincare products to help maintain your results.
Aftercare: Your technician will provide you with after care instructions.
Dermaplaning is a quick and effective treatment that can leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and brighter. With proper aftercare and follow-up appointments, you can enjoy long-lasting results!
